Thrissur Pooram is a popular temple festival of the South Indian state of Kerala. It is held at the Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur town every year on the "Pooram" day of the Malayalam Calendar month of "Medam".

A small town on the coast a couple of hours south from Chennai, with plenty of impressive temples hollowed on the stone.

Near my Guest House there was a square always full of people running everywhere.. but there was also a small corner where every day elderly sat "comfortably" were enjoying their time reading the newspapers. This man was one of the most present goers.
