The beauty the architecture and this gold color make this part of the city very fascinating. It's a pity that the most of the streets are full of shops that hanging their goods on the walls, are covering and ruining these beautiful buildings.

Jaisalmer is also known as the Golden City. Like the other cities in Rajasthan (Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur) this tag comes from the colors of the walls of the old downtown. Within the ancient walls of Jaisalmer Fort, the building are colored in gold.
