Here we are in Allapey, where kids used to travel everyday on the boat through the canals to go to school.

A queue of Hindu believers during a festival in Varkala. At the end of the queue the priests of the temple are blessing and donating cups of rice to the God. The people are praying waiting for their blessing, while outside the women of the town are cooking for God.

This woman works in the fields of tea eight hours every day of the week for only 220rupees daily (3euro).
Does not have enough money to buy shoes for work (and works in bare feet) but she has enough to keep smiling and to show us her beautiful hospitality..

One shot on the train from Varkala to Kanyakumari: the Sleeper Class. Fortunately not very crowded, as it often happens in India. So, as a first experience of an Indian train wasn't bad. Ok, there are some cockroach around, but think of them as fellow travelers.

During a walk through the mountains of Munnar we met women workers of the tea plantations. When we arrived they had just started a small break of 20 minutes. In the tea plantations of India and Sri Lanka (Munnar included), 90% of workers are from the state of Tamil Nadu, known to be hard workers.

An encounter through the streets of a small town near Varkala. These children were watching a colorful parade of elephants during a famous festival of the place. Intrigued and amused even of all these foreign tourists with cameras in the hands.
