Jaisalmer is also known as the Golden City. Like the other cities in Rajasthan (Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur) this tag comes from the colors of the walls of the old downtown. Within the ancient walls of Jaisalmer Fort, the building are colored in gold.

Pushkar is a small town in the heart of Rajasthan where the Hindu culture is very strong. This town is famous for its lake, considered sacred, where everyday the locals gather for every kind of daily activity: from washing clothes and dishes, to bathing, or some religious rituals.

The waters of Pushkar Lake are considered sacred. Daily, locals and Hindu believers from all over India, travel to these waters to pray and connect spiritually with the sacredness' of the place.

On the streets of Pushkar, a camel seems particularly interested on a small shop of paintings.

Around a Hindu temple in the heart of the city, which entrance was allowed only to the locals, there are some apartments where some Indian families live in close contact with this sacred place of great spirituality.

In a small gipsy village in the Thar Desert near Jaisalmer, is the time for the annual shearing of the sheeps.

In my trip to the Thar desert I had the opportunity to visit some of the villages Gipsy. What to say of these villages? definitely interesting to see how these people live in very difficult circumstances.
