During the Holi Festival, on the streets you will be constantly stopped to to be totally painted with colored powders. At the end of the day you'll find yourself with face and clothes covered by many different colors... all beautiful and very bright.

The advice is to use old clothes ready to be thrown away.. and is sure that you will need a very long shower to get rid of all that color. Unfortunately there is a downside of this lively festival: women are the preferred targets of Indian men (often drunken).. that sometimes push far beyond the limits of common sense. In Jaipur the situation is pretty controlled, but in some Indian cities, for women is strongly recommended celebrate inside the house with families.
