The second day, things got complicate. Departure delayed more than 1 hour due to overloaded boat.. The crew didn't notice that the number of the passengers was exceeding of 15 persons who belonged to another group arrived there with a different boat. Organization is not he best skill of the people living in this countries... basically they simply forgot to ask for the ticket before boarding the passengers.

The people was cramped inside and many persons had no seat for 9 hours journey under the rain, with water dripping inside from everywhere (fortunately I was one of the privileged on my small and uncomfortable seat). In front of me there was a man who was feeding his child. Hilarious, when he made him pee outside and some drops were coming back inside because of the wind.

Finally we stopped at a secondary pier outside the city instead the main one, close to Luang Prabang. Basically they wanted us to take a tuk tuk overpriced to get to the city. This caused a sort of mutiny of the passengers who refused to get off from the boat for 30 minutes. Finally everyone gave up protesting and wasting more time and we all ended up paying the tuk tuk to get into town.

Very interesting the difference in attitudes between tourists and local people.. Tourists almost shocked and shattered (myself included); the locals completely relaxed, comfortable in what seemed to be more an expedition than a trip.. sometimes almost amused seeing us, "the people from the city", suffering for a simple "boat trip".
A special experience which made me understand how spoiled are we by the comfortable life that we have in western countries.
