In a Buddhist temple I have been impressed by this lady who prayed with special intensity. Buddhist practice in the incense sticks are used to ward off evil spirits.

In Shinto religion before praying you need to purify yourself. The first step is buying incense to burn in a big pot in front of the temple. Then purify yourself with the smoke produced by that.. almost like taking a shower of smoke.

A buddhist monk who studies alone inside a small temple near Can Tho. Monks must always broaden their knowledge and wisdom.. therefore study is a really important part of their life and they spend lot of hours reading books.

Does not have enough money to buy shoes for work (and works in bare feet) but she has enough to keep smiling and to show us her beautiful hospitality..
