This is a small mountain village near the Himalayas. Manali is divided in two between the old and the new city. Forget about New Manali, just a tourist center with shops (not interesting) and expensive restaurants.
We are on the Mekong River on the border with Cambodia and this is one of the houses of the floating village. Most of the houses are simple shacks built quite randomly like the one you see. A woman prepares the dinner in what is her open sky kitchen, draining the fluids of the meat that cuts, directly into the river. She is probably waiting for her husband to come back from work on his own small boat.
Shot taken while i was sailing on a boat on the Mekong River. This is a glimpse of one of the houseboats.. Here there is a floating village where the life goes very relaxed, away from the city. A man reads the news coming from the "Inland world".
This woman works in the fields of tea eight hours every day of the week for only 220rupees daily (3euro).
Does not have enough money to buy shoes for work (and works in bare feet) but she has enough to keep smiling and to show us her beautiful hospitality..
Two men who work hard on the shore of the Mari river which bisects this small town on the border of India. The rock quarries of Jaflong are a main source of income for thousands of migrant workers from all over Bangladesh.
A shot from the "Human Zoo" inhabited by tribes of Longneck. This is a difficult technique of weaving handed down from generation to generation by this special tribe. Technique now used to make souvenirs for tourists who come to visit.
Shooting from a Tuk Tuk. These are children who return from a small school near the sites of Angkorwat. Along these roads you can see long lines of children all wearing this kind of uniforms, returning alone to their houses or huts. Sometimes walking others by bikes often bigger than themselves.
