Walking through the mystical silence of the ancient forest in Yakushima island. This is one of the most beautiful forest I've ever seen.. an enchanted atmosphere and beautiful glimpses. It's also famous for having inspired films like "Princess Mononoke".
At the old neighborhoods of Tokyo... a door half open, an old man that work despite poor lighting condition.
Asakusa is one of the traditional neighborhoods of Tokyo. One of the few places of this city where you can see the style of the ancient Japan...(that i like most).
The autumn colors in Japan are simply amazing. If you have the opportunity, take a trip around here.. It could be a bit fresh, but is worth to come at least once and see the cities decorated with these beautiful trees.
Tokyo, despite being one of the most touristic cities in the world, has the worst subway I've seen so far. Really complicated and uncomfortable .. too many lines, different companies (that often force you to change your ticket) and really expensive.
The Fushimiinari taisha Shrine is a famous and important Shinto shrine in the beautiful Kyoto city. Those you see are all Torii, sacred portals. In this big temple in the hills there are long avenues that pass through a dense construction of these sacred monuments; avenues that lead to several Shrine temples or places of prayer for many believers.
What you see is called the gate of heaven or Torii. In Japan it is present in many places and temples .. is a key monument of this religion called Shinto, and is like a portal for access to a sacred area. Before passing through you should bow (practice used not as often... I have seen few people bow).
